PMFS Figure Show September 2008

This year's Panhandle Miniature Figure Society's annual Figure Show was held September 12th &13th. The show was a success again, in spite of the active hurricane season which kept us in doubt until a few days before the show. Modelers came from Louisiana, Tennessee, and south Florida in spite of Pensacola looking like the target for Hurricane Ike a week before the show. Our thoughts go out to those on the Texas coast who ended up facing the wrath of Ike. Friday we did experience some high winds, water, and wave action, but by Saturday it turned out to be a beautiful day.
This year's show had some new highlights to mention. We were joined by Bob & Susan Letterman, founders of Mastercon, among many other accomplishments in the hobby field. Many of our regulars are participants at Mastercon, and much like that show we like to think of our show as a family reunion of friends with a model contest attached. Another highlight was an addition to our beautiful hospitality suite overlooking the water. Our own Syndjinn Scott, a renowned local chef spent Saturday cooking and making sushi for our guests! This show keeps getting better and better! We'll be doing it again next year, so keep checking our coming events page for details! Keep a close eye out too, as we may move away from the height of the hurricane season.
