3D Heroclix

Here at Bobe's Hobby House we have been carrying Wizkids Heroclix game for a number of years. We have been participating in their organized play system for almost as long. Over the years we have had a great community of Heroclix players. In November of 2008 Wizkids' parent company Topps shut Wizkids down. This threw a serious wrench in the organized play system. There is still hope that Heroclix will continue, but just how is still up in the air right now.

Meanwhile, our heroclix community is still playing! And since Wizkids closed down, we've just gotten more creative! We are no longer constrained by the company organized tournaments, and can play however we wish! What we have been doing is letting whoever wins the tournament pick the next tournament format.

The most creative tournaments have been run by Paul Gerdell. He had a concept for 3D heroclix. The game was almost a cross between Heroclix and Dungeons & Dragons. Paul was the scenario creator and sort of Dungeon Master. Each player came with a single figure and a backup figure. Paul created all the terrain, provided the scenario figures, and ran the event. He even provided prize support out of his collection. As we moved through the scenario, things would happen. These pictures are from the 2 games he has run so far. We hope to have him back for another game soon!
